Ami is a global public affairs leader with over two decades of experience developing solutions and building teams to achieve policy, legislative, regulatory, and communications goals. He has worked with key decision-makers in Washington, governors, local officials, and international business and political leaders on critical economic and commercial issues. From cybersecurity and emerging technologies to climate, energy, trade, and national security, Ami helps organizations grow.
Before joining Gray Space Strategies, Ami was DC Head of Public Affairs at APCO Worldwide and a senior executive at Resolute, a global strategic advisory firm. Previously, he served as Executive Director of Business Forward, a national business trade group working with over 100,000 executives across the country.
Ami was Deputy National Finance Director for Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign and Senior Finance Advisor to the Democratic National Committee in 2008, helping set fundraising records that contributed to Obama’s election. In 2009, he co-founded New Partners Consulting, advising corporations, non-profits, and campaigns on strategy, fundraising, and advocacy.
He began his political career on Senator Tom Harkin’s reelection campaign and later held leadership roles at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the reelection campaigns of Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and Senator Bill Nelson.
Before entering politics, Ami served as a First Sergeant in the Israeli Defense Forces and worked as an investment banker and business journalist in Europe. He is a member of the American Council of Young Political Leaders and a Bard College graduate with a degree in political science.
